Captain Samosir is entrusted with leading the Blessing Congregation of the Salvation Army Church, which also serves as an outpost (pioneering congregation) in Bualo, Kalawara Village, Sigi Regency. Although this area boasts good natural potential for agriculture, the congregation's well-being remains relatively low. In response, Terima Kasih Indonesia partnered with Captain Samosir to implement the Little Farmers program, an initiative that encourages children and young people to rediscover agriculture and animal husbandry through hands-on learning in the field.
For TRIKIND and Captain Samosir, building the congregation's future is not only achieved through spiritual instruction in church, but also through concrete actions that prepare the younger generation for life. Together with the children and families of the congregation, they begin learning to cultivate the land, plant crops, and care for livestock in a more environmentally responsible manner. This simple process gradually fosters a love of agriculture among the younger generation while fostering awareness that land and existing resources must be managed properly for the survival of families and communities. Through these small steps, the church becomes a space where faith, care for creation, and efforts to build community well-being go hand in hand. 🌱
